I have pictures of an old barn and the name of the farm. I
believe it’s the same dairy farm mentioned above. If I drive to the
country, I can see the name of the farm and be able to tell you. Grandma
and I drove back there none too long ago. The old homestead is still
there. The normal two story brick colonial style home. What really
amazed me is how the barn was constructed. This same barn that Papa
Lowry, my great grandfather and his father worked in. The lower half was
built of masonry, three quarters of the wall structure. The remaining above
it being made of wood. When I saw it, not more than a year ago with her,
it is in mint condition. No longer used as a dairy barn but for storage.
In driving into the farm, a long winding road lined with trees
and fenced fields on both sides, there was a field to the right. Grandma
pointed out the now open field use to be an apple orchard. When Papa
Harris started courting grandma, they use to take walks through the apple
orchard.
