Pumpkin Pickin

Busy weekend.  Grandkids were visiting this weekend.  We went to the pumpkin patch so everyone could get their own pumpkin.  We rode the hay ride, climbed on hay bales.

We then went to a fall festival.  They each had their favorite things there.  Ethan's was eating as all the food was free; candy caramel apples, brunswick stew, bbq.  He didn't go hungry.  Sierra's I think was the cupcake walk.  Between her and Ethan they brought home 2 packs of a dozen cupcakes, a chocolate cake and another confectionary scone.  Sierra shared her cupcakes with Spencer for his birthday -  this past weekend.

Carrie's favorite was the slide.  I couldn't get her off...lol See our pictures below.  I have a video I'll have to try and upload later.

After our visit to Texas in July, Spencer and Mel were ready for a vacation.  They traveled for a couple of weeks with Richmond being one of their stops to see dad and other family.  We put together a dinner for those that could attend at Cracker Barrel.

Folks joining us for dinner; Carol & Shelly, Merrie, Forrest/Teri and their girls, Dad, Kevin & I, Karen & Roger.   Spencer, Mel, Tiffany and her girls.  Don't think I missed anyone!

Our favorite place to visit for ice cream is Jimer's.  It's just one of those little hole in the walls that pops up and becomes your favorite place to go.  Luckily this is on my way home and no one ever knows when I stop....lol
Shared my favorite place with Sierra and Carrie this past weekend.

Will had his 8th grade graduation ceremony today.  In the fall its on to the high school.  I think he is concerned about being a Freshman.  The first question he asked on the way home - do Freshman get picked on?  ahahaha.  Yup and you just say thank you, smile and walk on.  lol

With his certificate, he also received his "pin" for Presidents Award for Educational Achievement.  It's to award those in the Honor Society.  I'm sure a few of his teachers have a different award they'd hand out - Mr. Smarty Pants. :)

Our crafty sister is a Blue Ribbon winner for her talent at the State Fair of Virginia.  Way to go Merrie!  With grandson Zachary, who the blanket was made for and granddaughter Madison.  Jennifer and Beverly secretly entered it into the VA State Fair without Merrie knowing about.  What a wonderful daughter and mother-in-law to have done that for her.

Shelley's Sweet 16 Birthday

Great time on Saturday for Shelley's sweet 16.  Lots of good food and fun.  Kids had a blast swimming.  I got to visit with Zachary, Jennifer and Tony's new baby.  I say new but I'm guessing he is coming up on a year soon.
